2022 Canyon Engine Performance

With any pickup truck, you need to be aware of the things it’s able to accomplish on a day-to-day basis, and the Canyon really has the ability to get the job done. Even though the GMC Canyon is seen as a “smaller” truck in the market, it won’t be a lightweight whenever it comes to performance or towing. An optional 7,700lbs of towing capacity is a tough stat to match, along with a large cabin that gives you plenty of space to pack more cargo. The GMC Canyon Denali and AT4 models have a lower towing capacity of up to 7,550lbs while providing even more useful available amenities. The Canyon AT4 model may equip some unmatched available Goodyear® Wrangler Duratrac® 31-inch Tires that give your Canyon a fierce stance. A gasoline-powered 2.5L powertrain is going to come standard in the Canyon, while an available V6 3.6L or Duramax® 2.8-liter Turbo-Diesel engine could be equipped if you want it.

What is the Horsepower of the Canyon?

The Canyon has 200 horsepower with its standard configuration. This is right from the base 2.5L powertrain that also produces 191 lb-ft of torque to contribute to its massive towing capacity. The optional 2.8L Diesel Duramax® 4-cylinder powertrain produces 369 lb-ft of torque and 181hp along with a larger curb weight. In between the two engine options is the 3.6L V6 powertrain that has the highest creation, coming in at 275 lb-ft of torque and 308 HP.

Top Speed of the Canyon

The Canyon has a maximum speed of 98 miles per hour. A quick top speed can be quite impressive to hear, but you shouldn’t try to hit fast speeds all the time. You need to follow the local speeding and traffic laws. Plus, it’ll take you a while to hit excessive speeds due to the GMC Canyon’s frame. The 98 mph top speed applies across the board and is limited by the software inside of the truck.

0-60 of the GMC Canyon

The Canyon accelerates from 0-60 miles per hour in just 6.7 seconds for many of the pickup truck’s trim levels. Seeing that the GMC Canyon uses such a large body and frame, you’ll need more time to hit higher speeds on the road, but it’ll reach them. The 0-60 mile per hour times haven’t been officially released or tested for every different trim, but an estimated 6.7 second time is a great measuring stick for time to predict their times.
